Gift: Moonlit Practice

Description

This is a gift for my lovely friend :iconsterlingrevolver: of her OC Jiatsu. fav.me/d5bufai

This picture was quite the task to say the least. I decided to take a running leap off a cliff and try a lot of new things. The pose for one to attempt something more dynamic. The lighting from it being back lit to the want of a moonlit feel and using about a hundred thousand different sades of blue. Which was quite the challenge with her hair. Took a lot of thought but the decision to do her eyes red was based on the fact that the characters eyes flicker between blue and red. And them being red felt right as I imagine they'd tend more towards red in a fight.

Well I quite enjoyed working on this. There's probably more I could say but I can't think of it as the picture's fried some brain cells.

Jiatsu belongs to the lovely :iconsterlingrevolver:

And of course a big thanks to the lovely :iconsenshistock: and her wonderful stock photos. If it were not for this one:

This picture wouldn't have been possible. Thanks for the inspiration.

And this tutorial was pretty useful for the starry sky there: fav.me/d5r5d94

So I already told you I love it. Where to begin now. The clothes you put her in are really neat, I like how you played around a little with something different, and the little symbols around on the clothing and the halberd are a nice touch.
The pose is really daring and I'm sure it was a lot of work! The one thing I'd say looks off with it, is her right wrist (the one closest to the sharp end of the weapon) looks a little stretched out, like either that area is too long or the muscle from the rest of the arm didn't come out far enough. And then her legs/ankles I think you great on and I'm really impressed with!
The red eyes were a wonderful compliment to the piece, just that splash of something different in all the blues. Which I think you worked the blue shades with her hair really well.
And the sky, just wow is it lovely! And sparkly... which is awesome X3
