Cthulhu Balloon Ride

So this originally this started off my Cthulhu streak. I decided I needed a new dA ID. I was originally going to make myself another cute war animal. But I couldn't decide on one. So early one morning my husband and I were out and there were a bunch of hot air balloons in the air. I told him I wanted a Cthulhu hot air balloon so that it looked like him flying through the sky. So I suppose this will have to suffice.

This was a fun picture. I realize the proportion of the balloon to the basket and rider is unrealistic. But it was intentional. It's a chibi picture for one ... so chibi physics. And I didn't want the basket and the rider to be so small that you couldn't make them out . I wanted everything to fit. The balloon itself is my favorite part of this piece. I can't begin to tell you how happy I am with how it turned out. The wicker basket was a pain, but the wicker detail was worth it. It looked funny flatly colored. Anyway ... I think I'm out of Cthulhu ideas for now.
